Balance the Intensity. Refine the Recovery.
At Kore Self Defense, we understand that high-level performance requires a high-level recovery strategy. If Krav Maga is the “hard” side of your training, our Yoga program is the essential “soft” counterpart. Designed to complement the rigors of combat sports and the stressors of modern life, our classes provide the physical and mental space needed to integrate your training and restore your body.
Weekly Schedule:
-
Wednesdays: 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
-
1st & 3rd Fridays: 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

A Specialized Approach to Movement

Led by Andrea Lucente, a certified yoga specialist with over 11 years of practice, our Yoga program is far more than just a stretching class. Andrea brings specialized expertise in Yin and Restorative Yoga, as well as Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery.
This isn’t about perfect poses; it’s about functional mobility and neurological regulation. Our sessions focus on:
-
Mobility & Structural Health: Target the deep connective tissues and joints that take the brunt of impact during striking and grappling.
-
The “Software” of Stillness: Just as Krav Maga trains you to act under stress, Yoga trains your nervous system to down-regulate and find calm, improving your decision-making and emotional regulation “off the training floor.”
-
Trauma-Informed Practice: Utilizing principles of mindful resilience, we create a safe environment where students can reconnect with their bodies and process the “intensity” of self-defense training in a restorative way.
The 4-Pillar Integration
Aligning with the Krav Maga Global (KMG) philosophy, our Yoga classes address the four pillars of a complete human system:
-
Physically: Increasing flexibility and reducing the risk of injury.
-
Mentally: Developing the patience and focus required for long-term mastery.
-
Technically: Enhancing body awareness and “proprioception”—the ability to know exactly where your limbs are in space.
-
Tactically: Using breathwork as a tactical tool to manage heart rate and adrenaline.

Benefits for the Modern Warrior

Incorporating Yoga into your routine offers profound benefits for your physical and mental health. Beyond the mats, a consistent practice helps to:
-
Combat Chronic Stress: Actively lower cortisol levels and reduce anxiety.
-
Improve Sleep Quality: Prepare the body for deep, restorative rest.
-
Enhance Athletic Longevity: Keep your muscles supple and your joints healthy so you can continue training for years to come.
