Lead Instructor | Women’s & Youth Program Director: Mikayla Rodarte
Mikayla Rodarte is the Lead Instructor for Kore Self Defense, overseeing the technical development of our Kore Warriors and Valkyries programs. Having begun her journey at Kore at the age of 14, Mikayla has spent over a decade within the Kore system, evolving from a dedicated student into a cornerstone of our leadership team. By the age of 18, she had already earned her certification as an adult instructor—a testament to her early mastery of the “Kore Standard.”
A Decade of Instructional Excellence
With over eight years of professional teaching experience, Mikayla specializes in the unique dynamics of youth development and women’s self-defense. Her passion lies in sharing the physical and psychological skills of Krav Maga and MMA with students of all backgrounds. As a lead educator, she ensures that every student—from our youngest Warriors to our most advanced adults—receives instruction that is as empowering as it is technically sound.
Analytical Precision & Academic Achievement
Mikayla’s disciplined approach on the mats is mirrored by her academic success. She is a recent graduate of George Mason University, where she completed a double concentration in Financial Planning, Wealth Management, and Accounting. Currently pursuing her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, Mikayla applies the same analytical rigor and attention to detail required in wealth management to her deconstruction of defensive tactics and student progress.
Beyond the Mats
Mikayla is a “Kore lifer” who believes in holistic development. When she isn’t refining curriculum or studying for the CFP exam, she is likely immersed in the world of high fantasy—she is a devoted fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy—or exploring her other passions, which include financial literacy, classic cinema, and anything involving chocolate.
Her unique ability to connect with people of all ages makes her a vital asset to the Kore community. Whether she is leading a striking drill or mentoring a new assistant instructor, Mikayla’s mission is to help every student claim their extraordinary potential through discipline, resilience, and world-class training.
