It's an Ugly Sweater Christmas!

December 18, 2025  5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
21240 Ashburn Crossing, Dr, ste 140, Ashburn, VA 20147

It’s our second annual Ugly Sweater Christmas!

Come dressed to celebrate the season and eat some food!

Please keep the following in mind when choosing your ugly sweater:

  • There have been some CRAZY ugly sweaters out there, so while wearing your sweater, you MUST be able to:

    • Freely move

    • See clearly

  • You and your sweater should not “drip” anything.. (I don’t know.. Just trying to cover bases here..)

  • Keep it PG-13!

We’ll run our normal Combat Fitness, Kids, and Adult classes on the 18th. The Valkyrie class will run from 6:30 to 7:30 PM (instead of 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM). After the Adult class (7:30 pm) everyone will participate in a Kore sponsored White Elephant give away (your attendance over the previous 2 months will make a difference in your chances to get something REALLY cool!).

As a mom, I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Kore Self Defense. My daughter has only been training here for about about a month and already I can see so many positive changes in her. She’s learning real, practical ways to defend herself, and she even surprised me the other day when she told me she blocked a kid’s kick at school.

The children’s program is absolutely fantastic. They learn very effective techniques in ways the kids really understand. What I really love is how inclusive the environment is. Older students often take time to encourage and help the younger ones, which creates a strong sense of community and peer learning.

My daughter is gaining life skills that go far beyond the mat. For parents looking for a solid self-defense program that also nurtures confidence, respect, and real-world readiness, Kore Self Defense is the place.

I have been at Kore almost 2 years now and enjoy training here. I train about 3 days a week, 2-3 hours each time. Not only do I learn self-defense, but I’m also getting a good work out in. The instructors are great, super friendly, knowledgeable and approachable and the people who train here are awesome. It’s a great community overall. I like that they host other classes and events such as Modern Arnis, First Aid, Hostage/Kidnapping workshops, Muay Thai and BJJ.

Excellent – Cannot say enough good things about Kore Self Defense! Great staff – well trained – personable – approachable – welcoming – supportive & accommodating. Their self-defense training takes in to account your limits, your abilities and then work with you to find what works for you - “training within your body”. Meanwhile they offer classes where You can work at your pace to improve You – creating a healthier and more capable You. Additionally, they are the only self-defense gym in the area that I’m aware of that offers focused women’s only self defense classes – led by women!

I have been a student here for about 5 years and I love this place. Everyone is so nice and respectful! It’s one of my favorite places I love training here and I’ll train as long as I can! It really helped me deal with my social anxiety, so I really appreciate this gym.

I have been a member of Kore Self-defense and Krav Maga for more than a year. I had no prior self-defense training and thought it would be a great way to get back into shape and pick up useful skills which have real-life application.
The staff is very welcoming - accepting practitioners of all levels to the mat and encouraging everyone to work together - Male, Female, unranked, and ranked individuals. The instruction staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to explain why certain actions are built into the system.
The classes generally run 45 mins at a time and are stacked throughout the week where it is possible to get up to 3 hours of work in on a given day. They range from Kore work, self-defense training, kickboxing and stricking, and applications courses. As a member you have access the entire range of sessions or pick and choose what fits your availability or purpose for training.
I have gotten back into shape, achieved my first rank, and become a much more attentive, and prepared individual, to spot and deal with dangerous situations. Thank you to Tammy and all the dedicated instructors!
